Sarah Martiny (ENVS '06)
Study Abroad: Prague

Sarah studied in Prague, Czech Republic from January to May 2005 through Collegium Hieronymi Pragensis, an English language program for American University students. All of her courses were in English except for the Czech language course which was extremely useful. Sarah enjoyed the history and politics courses and really got to know the professors. They often invited the students to their homes or organized outings. After the program ended, Sarah decided to stay in Prague and work for an international human rights organization, People in Need. She received a grant from the Civic House to cover the cost of living expenses. Sarah recommends studying in Prague, "its a very different place undergoing a lot of political, social, and economic changes right now and no matter what someone is interested, you can find what you're looking for in the Czech Republic".
