Becky has been a language specialist at ELP since May 2010, after having served as a lecturer since 2008. In addition to teaching many types of courses in various programs at ELP, she advises students with their undergraduate and graduate applications as part of the UniConn team. Before coming to Penn, she taught in university-based Intensive English Language programs in Delaware and Missouri. She also volunteered in ESL and literacy programs in North Carolina, Oregon, and Philadelphia.
Becky earned a Peace Corps Master’s International degree in TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She combined her degree with a two year service in the Peace Corps as a TESOL educator and volunteer advocate in P.R. China from 2001-2003 at the Neijiang Teacher’s College in Sichuan province. Her professional interests include curriculum development, content teaching, and academic English.
