The Executive Communication Program is designed to address the English language needs of experienced international executives and managers. A maximum class size of seven and an intensive schedule of 30 hours per week allow for a focus on individual needs. The program emphasizes oral communication and is designed for clients with an intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in English. The program can also help clients prepare for the demands of executive education courses at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Features

Pre-program Assessment

Our staff contacts each client by telephone to conduct a detailed, individualized language and needs assessment prior to arrival. As part of this assessment, clients discuss their professional and personal uses of English, their goals for the program, and the areas of language they most wish to focus on. Results from the telephone interview are then used to customize the program for participants.

Luncheon Guests

Clients share conversation with a staff person over weekday lunch which is held on or near the University campus. Luncheons provide an opportunity to practice social interaction skills and strategies and learn about Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, and US culture.

Philadelphia Attractions

One of the most historic cities in the USA, Philadelphia has a population of 1.8 million and is home to a wealth of social and cultural attractions, as well as many fine restaurants. On free evenings or weekends, clients may wish to take advantage of such attractions as: Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, one of Philly's many jazz clubs, a Philadelphia Orchestra concert, professional theatre/dance/musical productions, or professional sporting events (football, basketball, baseball, ice hockey). ELP staff will be happy to advise clients and assist them with reservations and information.
