Julia Deak

Julia Deak joined the ELP as a part-time lecturer in the Intensive Program in 2007. She mostly teaches advanced electives that prepare students for academic success in US colleges and universities. Ms. Deak is a PhD student in Educational Linguistics at the Graduate School of Education and earned her MSEd in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) there in 2007. She also conducts intensive, 15-hour TESOL teacher-training workshops at the Graduate School of Education.

She began her TESOL career in 2001 in Barcelona, Spain and Budapest, Hungary, teaching English to business people and government employees as well as other adults and small children. Since then, she has taught teenagers and adults of all levels in Boston at the Boston Academy of English and in Philadelphia at the Nationalities Service Center. Deak also works as a language trainer for Global Arena in Philadelphia.
