Lisa Citron Taglang has been working in the English Language Programs at the University of Pennsylvania since June 2006, first as a Lecturer, then as Language Specialist, and now as the University Connection (Uniconn) Programs Manager. As the Uniconn Programs Manager, Lisa provides support for students whose goal is to matriculate into degree programs at U.S. universities. She oversees Uniconn classes such as Applying to U.S. Universities and Writing the University Application Essay, academic advising and college counseling, and admissions-related workshops. She also manages Foundation Year Programs for students in the SABIC and KAUST scholarship programs, and serves as a liaison between the ELP and student sponsors.
During her tenure at the ELP, Lisa has taught in the Intensive Program and Fulbright Summer Pre-Academic Program, been a rater for the SPEAK and IPT proficiency tests, and designed curricula for groups of students with specific needs and goals.
Before joining the ELP, she taught English as a Foreign Language in Gotemba, Japan and Prague, Czech Republic, and worked with ESL learners in programs throughout the Philadelphia area such as the Lao Association, SEAMAAC, Drexel University and Harcum College. In the summers of 2011 and 2012, Lisa taught Writing and Presentation Skills to pre-college students at Korea University in Seoul, South Korea. She has also lived in France and traveled extensively through Europe and Asia.
