Mid-Intermediate/Advanced

The University Application Essay uses materials developed with the input of a panel of university admissions officers from across the U.S. This course includes brainstorming exercises, examples of different types of introductions and conclusions, sample essay structures, editing checklists, and question-specific strategies for the most common admissions essay topics. Through this course you will improve your:

  • logical organization skills at both the essay and paragraph levels
  • ability to express your ideas more concisely, vividly, and assertively
  • strategies for crafting effective introductions and conclusions.

In the course, you receive extensive feedback from your instructor on multiple drafts of each essay that you write. In addition, you choose an instructional path designed specifically for your needs, which means you may choose to prepare application essays for any of the following:

  • medical school
  • law school
  • MBA programs
  • graduate degree programs
  • undergraduate degree programs

Requirements*:

 

  • TOEFL score of 173 or higher (500 or higher paper-based)
  • TOEIC score of 600 or higher
  • ALTE level 3 or higher
  • Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) or higher
