University Connection (UniConn) successfully prepares students for the challenges of the university application and admissions process. Students meet one-on-one with university admissions specialists, participate in workshops on topics related to the university application process, and are oriented to the academic expectations and culture of US universities. UniConn also assists students in improving their language proficiency and academic skills to ensure success in their degree program.
Over the past 9 years, under the guidance of the ELP's highly qualified instructors and advisors, UniConn students have been accepted into a variety of competitive undergraduate and graduate degree programs throughout the United States. You can find a sample of acceptances here .

Students may wish to participate in University Connection Plus (UniConn Plus) for a session or two. Through UniConn Plus, students have access to preparation courses for SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and other standardized tests required for university admission. UniConn Plus includes all the components of UniConn, while allowing students to take one test preparation courses in place of an academic elective for an additional fee.
Eligible UniConn students can apply to take a non-degree credit course through Penn's College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS). Learn more about non-degree credit courses here.
To fully participate in UniConn or UniConn Plus, new students must place into the intermediate (600) level on the Intensive Program Placement Test, taken during orientation. A TOEFL iBT score of 70+ should ensure that the student is as the appropriate level to participate in UniConn or UniConn Plus; however, all students will need to take the placement test during orientation.
Students who place below the high-intermediate level on the placement test may participate in weekly UniConn workshops and may schedule on-on-one appointments with UniConn advisors to develop an individualized academic plan and make sure they are on the correct path for taking advantage of the UniConn program once they have a higher level of English proficiency.
