A first course in ethnographic participant observational research
— its substantive orientation, literature, and methods.
Emphasis is on the interpretive study of social organization and
culture in educational settings, formal and informal. Methods
of data collection and analysis, critical review of examples of
ethnographic research reports, and research design and proposal
preparation are among the topics and activities included in this
course.
