FPO Staff
Charles Bronk, DirectorCharles Bronk is responsible to the Vice Dean for Finance and Administration for facilities management and operational services functions for the School of Arts and Sciences, to ensure proper maintenance and utilization of physical facilities in the School. Serves as the principal liaison between the Office of the Dean and the various departments of the Vice President for Facilities and Real Estate Services. Responsible for facilities planning, operations and project management. Graduate of the
University of Delaware, 1969, with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.
Course work toward a PhD in Biology at the University of Pennsylvania
1970-1979. Completed all but dissertation. Former Facilities Manager
of the Biology Department of the University of Pennsylvania from 1981-1983.
Assistant Director of Facilities Management for the Faculty of Arts
and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania 1983-1985. Director
of Facilities Planning and Operation from 1985 to the present.
Thomas Ewing, Associate Director Reports to the Director and is responsible for the daily operations of the Department. He supervises the SAS Building Administrators who report to SAS Facilities and is responsible for the support and training of all SAS Building Administrators. He also supervises the Interiors Projects Managers, the Operations Coordinator and the Administrative Assistant. He is responsible for major relocations within SAS, leased space and project planning and management. He also serves as the principal liaison of the School both to Public Safety for security and access systems and to the University Registrar's office for classroom design, modification and maintenance. Tom has a BA in Architecture from Penn and an MBA from Temple University. Before joining SAS, he was the Sr. Project Manager for the design and construction of Huntsman Hall, and Associate Director of Design and Construction for Trammell Crow Facilities Services at Penn. Earlier he was Senior Planner in the University's Department of Facilities Planning. Prior to working at Penn, he was involved in historic restoration, both design and development.
Deborah McGrath, Interiors Project Manager Responsible for planning and managing interior renovations. She supervises the Building Interiors Coordinators and Coop student worker. She supervises the SAS space database, including CAD drawings of all SAS facilities and supports SAS master planning activities with graphic data. Debbie has a BS in Interior Design from Drexel University. She joined SAS Facilities after working as a designer for the Philadelphia architectural interiors firm Ai5, which is responsible for the interior design of the Biomedical Research Building, among other Penn projects.
Jim Nixon, Sr. Building Administrator Oversees the facilities at David Rittenhouse Laboratory including Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, and MMETS. Reports and tracks all requests for service from the department contacts in the building. Supports administrators and staff in SAS' leased facilities by contracting and supervising outside services. Responsible for planning SAS' vehicle fleet operations.
Maria Romeo, Sr. Building Manager Oversees the facilities at Logan Hall, the McNeil building, Williams Hall and 3619 Locust Walk. These duties include reporting and processing all requests for service received via email and phone calls from department contacts in each building. Building Administrator, Antoinette Bomento Oversees the facilities at Solomon Laboratories, Stiteler Hall, 3808-10 Walnut Street, 3809 Walnut Street and SAS space in 3401 Walnut Street. These duties include reporting and processing all requests for service received via email and phone calls from department contacts in each building.
James Trumbo, Building Administrator Oversees the facilities at Fisher-Bennett Hall. These duties include reporting and processing all requests for service received via email and phone calls from department contacts in each building.
Juliana Walker, Interiors Project ManagerResponsible for planning and managing interior design aspects of projects, such as furnishing of Bennett Hall and the new McNeil Center for Early American Studies. Juliana earned a B.S. in Interior Design from Drexel AUniversity and graduated in 2005. She has been with the Universiyt since 2003.
Sara King, Interiors Project Manager Coordinates interior renovations; manages provision of equipment and furnishings for faculty members, laboratories, and academic departments. Responsible for planning furnishings and finishes such as those of the Music Building project.
James Trumbo, Operations Coordinator Supervises the SAS Facilities Crew. Oversees completion of request for facilities services from SAS departments, such as in-building moves and moves of scientific research gear. Supervises campus furniture moves by contract movers. Responsible for the maintenance of SAS' vehicles.
