Pedagogy Seminar Series

GSWS Pedagogy Seminar: The Postcolonial Classroom with Ania Loomba (English)

Wednesday, October 28, 2015 - 10:00am - 11:30pm

How can we bring in postcolonial perspectives while teaching about gender and sexuality? How do we ensure that we do not work with Euro-American paradigms or theories and then add race or other parts of the world simply as footnotes or exceptions? Ania Loomba will share thoughts on how to rethink feminist theory, and also shape our syllabi in different fields using an expanded perspective.
