GSWS Pedagogy Seminar with Erin Cross (LGBT Center), Sara Mourad (Annenberg / GSWS), and Roderick Cook (GSWS) on Trigger Warnings

Date:
Monday, October 20, 2014 - 12:00pm - 1:30pm

Please join us on Monday, October 20th from 12-1:30pm at the LGBT Center for a Pedagogy Seminar with Erin Cross (LGBT Center), Sara Mourad (Annenberg / GSWS), and Roderick Cook (GSWS) on trigger warnings.

What are your thoughts about trigger warnings in the classroom?  Why are they so ‘in vogue’ now?  Come hear student perspectives and share your views in an interactive, hands-on session tailored to Penn’s classrooms led by Annenberg Ph.D. candidate Sara Mourad, undergraduate GSWS major Roderick Cook, and LGBT Center Senior Associate Director and GSE Lecturer Erin Cross.  Best practices and general knowledge will be shared.  In preparation for the seminar, please read (http://www.thedp.com/article/2014/09/shooting-down-trigger-warnings) and (http://www.thedp.com/article/2014/09/rethinking-academic-experience).
