Amishi Jha Receives Charles Ludwig Distinguished Teaching Award

Amishi Jha, assistant professor of psychology, has been selected to receive this year’s Charles Ludwig Distinguished Teaching Award. Established three years ago by the College Alumni Society, the award was named in memory of the organization’s long-time president. It recognizes School of Arts and Sciences standing faculty members who show an extraordinary commitment to the engagement of students as active and interactive participants in the learning process.
Jha works with Penn’s Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, where she researches the functional neuroanatomy of working memory and attention. Her teaching focuses on cognitive neuroscience, attention and memory, and the cognitive neuroscience of meditation. Jha’s students praise her “singular approachability” and admire her for “remaining invested in her students and rooted in undergraduate education.”
