Room 110, Annenberg School
3620 Walnut Street
Philadelphia, PA
Who were Penn's film and media pioneers of yesterday?
What are the hot topics in film and media research today?
What will media education look like tomorrow?
Leading scholars, Penn students and media movers and shakers will offer glimpses of pioneers from Penn’s past, discussion of up-to-date research, and speculation on what the media of the future might look like. Participants include British producer Duncan Kenworthy (Love Actually), Warren Lieberfarb, “architect of the DVD,” and Douglas Belgrad, president of production for Columbia Pictures.
The symposium brings together students and faculty with some of Penn’s most successful alumni in the entertainment industry. It will be a day of dialogue that aims to look beyond the horizon of today and imagine the shape of media education tomorrow. Penn Film & Media Pioneers was organized with the support of Warren Lieberfarb and is free and open to the public.
