January 2006

The School of Arts and Sciences welcomed back an old friend on Friday, January 20 with a memorable afternoon filled with music, film and spoken word performances. Students, faculty and others from the University community crammed the corridors of Fisher-Bennett Hall to mark its official return to the campus scene. Guests were treated to readings of original works by faculty and students, performances of chamber music and jazz, as well as screenings of Slaughterhouse Five and some classic silent films. But the star of the show was Fisher-Bennett Hall itself, which drew ooohs and ahhhs from those who gathered to see the results of 18 months of renovations. It was a great day to fete the campus landmark. If you missed the festivities, here’s your chance to enjoy the sights and sounds of Fisher-Bennett Hall’s grand reopening.
