Barbara Savage Honored with Prestigious Grawemeyer Award. December 2011. Barbara D. Savage, Geraldine R. Segal Professor of American Social Thought and Professor of History in the School of Arts and Sciences, has won the 2012 Louisville Grawemeyer Award in Religion for her book, Your Spirits Walk Beside Us: The Politics of Black Religion.
Joseph Subotnik Awarded Outstanding Junior Faculty Award. November 2011. The Computers in Chemistry (COMP) program division of the American Chemical Society named Joseph Subotnik an HP Outstanding Junior Faculty member for spring 2012.
Michael Horowitz Honored with Best Book Award by ISSS. November 2011. Horowitz, Associate Professor of Political Science, received the award for his book, The Diffusion of Military Power: Causes and Consequences for International Politics.
Stephanie McCurry Named Frederick Douglass Book Prize Winner. October 2011. McCurry’s book Confederate Reckoning: Power and Politics in the Civil War South received the award, which was established in 1999 to stimulate scholarship in the field of slavery and abolition.

Dilulio Jr., the Frederic Fox Leadership Professor of Politics, Religion, and Civil Society and Professor of Political Science, and Fels Institute of Government graduates Matthew D.
