SAS Lecturer Named Fellow of the Inter-American Photochemical Society
June 2006
Dr. Clelia Mallory, a senior lecturer in the Chemistry Department at Penn, has been named a Fellow of the Inter-American Photochemical Society.
The Inter-American Photochemical Society has members in academia, industry and government throughout North and South America. Its aim is to cultivate its members' interests in photosciences such as organic, inorganic, physical, biological and material photochemistry.
The society established the honor of Fellowship in 1993. It recognizes outstanding lifetime scientific achievements or contributions to either the science of photochemistry as a discipline or the furtherance of the society through service. Fellowship is a very distinctive honor, as it is limited to 4 percent of the membership of the Society and no more than two Fellows can be elected in a given year.
Prior to arriving at Penn's School of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Mallory lectured at Yale University and at Bryn Mawr College. She also received her A.B., her M.A. and her Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr.
