Seven students from the School of Arts and Sciences were honored for outstanding teaching as recipients of this year’s Penn Prize for Excellence in Teaching by Graduate Students. The award, which was established in 2000 by President Judith Rodin, recognizes excellence in teaching by graduate students across the university. SAS recipients of this year’s award included Dan Cain (Mathematics), David Faris (Political Science), Alexine Fleck (English), Christopher Makler (Economics), Melody Mark (Ancient History), Stephennie Mulder (History of Art), and Mike Smith (Biology). Ten awards are made in April every year, with nominations solicited directly from undergraduates.
