Political Science's Heiner Schulz Awarded Sloan Fellowship

Heiner Schulz, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, was recently awarded an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Industry Studies Fellowship. The fellowship will support his work on the political economy of banking sector deregulation in emerging markets. His study focuses on the role of foreign direct investment in revitalizing banking systems hit by financial crises.
The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Industry Studies Fellowship is intended "to enhance the careers of the very best young faculty members in the interdisciplinary field of Industry Studies." The Sloan Foundation awards a total of 116 fellowships annually in seven fields: chemistry, computational and evolutionary molecular biology, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience and physics.
