Chemistry Professor Receives Chemical Society Award

Patrick Walsh, a professor of inorganic and organic chemistry at the School of Arts and Sciences is the recipient of the 2006 American Chemical Society Philadelphia Section Award. The Section Award recognizes an individual, "who, by conspicuous scientific achievement through research, has made important contributions to man's knowledge and thereby aided the public appreciation of the profession."
Dr. Walsh is also the recipient of the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award and the National Science Foundation Career Award, as well as other awards, honors and fellowships. He received his B.A. in Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego and later his Ph.D., also in Chemistry, from the University of California, Berkley.
