Adrian Raine Is Named Fourth PIK Professor at Penn. January 12, 2007. Adrian Raine has been named the newest Penn Integrates Knowledge professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
Larry Sneddon: Kahn Endowed Term Professor. October 4, 2005. SAS Dean Rebecca W. Bushnell announced that Dr. Larry G. Sneddon has been named the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Endowed Term Professor of Chemistry in SAS.
Tukufu Zuberi Named Lasry Family Professor of Race Relations. April 19, 2005. Dr. Tukufu Zuberi, professor of sociology and director of the Center for Africana Studies, has been appointed the inaugural Lasry Family Endowed Professor of Race Relations.
Randall Collins Named Dorothy Thomas Professor of Sociology. April 12, 2005. Dr. Randall Collins, professor of sociology, has been named the Dorothy S. Thomas Professor of Sociology.
Jean-Michel Rabaté Named Vartan Gregorian Professor in the Humanities. April 5, 2005. SAS Dean Rebecca Bushnell appointed Dr. Jean-Michel Rabaté, a professor of English who also teaches comparative literature, as the inaugural holder of the Vartan Gregorian Professorship in the Humanities.

Kahn Endowed Term Professor in the Social Sciences, and Dr. Thomas Sugrue has been appointed the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Endowed Term Professor of History and Sociology.
Alan Kors Named George Walker Endowed Term Professor of History. December 7, 2004. Dr. Alan Charles Kors, professor of history, has been named the inaugural George H. Walker Endowed Term Professor of History.
Liliane Weissberg Named Christopher Browne Professor in SAS. October 12, 2004. Dr. Liliane Weissberg, professor of Germanic languages and literatures, has been appointed the Christopher H. Browne Distinguished Professor in the Arts and Sciences, Dean Samuel H. Preston announced.
Sheldon Hackney Named David Boies Professor in SAS. October 5, 2004. Dr. Sheldon Hackney, professor and chair of history, has been named the David Boies Professor in SAS, Dean Samuel H. Preston announced.
Robin Pemantle Named Merriam Term Professor. February 17, 2004. Robin Pemantle, who has come to Penn from Ohio State University, has been appointed the Merriam Term Professor of Mathematics. This chair was established through the bequest of John W. Merriam, W’31.
George Mailath Named Annenberg Professor in the Social Sciences. February 10, 2004. Economics professor George J. Mailath has been named the Annenberg Professor in the Social Sciences. The chair was endowed through the generosity of the late Walter Annenberg and his wife Leonore.
Amy Kaplan Named Kahn Endowed Term Chair. February 10, 2004. Professor of English Amy Kaplan has been named the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Endowed Term Chair in the Humanities. The chair was established through the bequest of Mr. Kahn, a 1925 graduate of the Wharton School and Mrs. Kahn, a graduate of Smith College.
Jason Schnittker Named Bers Assistant Professor. February 10, 2004. Assistant professor of sociology Jason Schnittker has been appointed the Janice and Julian Bers Assistant Professor in the Social Sciences. Janice Smith Bers, Ed’39, and her late husband Julian S. Bers, W’31, created this chair.
Diana Mutz Named Stouffer Professor. January 13, 2004. Diana C. Mutz, who came to Penn from Ohio State University in the fall, has been appointed the Samuel A. Stouffer Professor of Political Science in Communication in the School of Arts and Sciences with a secondary appointment in the Annenberg School for Communication. This chair was established through the generosity of the late Walter Annenberg and his wife Leonore.
