College Alumni Society
The College Alumni
Society is a group of Penn alumni who share a common purpose
of fostering the arts and sciences at Penn. The Societys
two main goals are to provide support to undergraduates at
the College and to the School itself, and to continue the
intellectual relationships of the alumni with the University
by providing programs and activities of interest to its members,
thereby providing the means for a continuing relationship
between the schools and its alumni
All graduates of the School of Arts and Sciences -- the College, the Graduate
Division, and the College of General Studies -- are members of the College Alumni
Society. Founded in 1835 as the University of Pennsylvania's first alumni organization,
the present-day College Alumni Society was formed when the College and the College
for Women merged in 1974. A Board of Managers, elected at the Annual Meeting
during Alumni Weekend, leads the College Alumni Society. Steven
Sokolow serves as the boards president and Huldah Anderson serves as its vice president. The work of the society is done in committees
made up of board members and other active alumni. Programs include social, educational,
and volunteer activities that help members to stay connected with the School
and with other alumni. For more information about the College Alumni Society
