International Relations is not only the most fascinating spectator sport there is... It is also of critical importance to our lives, and the lives of our children. As exciting as a Super Bowl or NBA Finals may be, it doesn't really matter who wins. Who wins in Kosovo or the Persian Gulf, and who comes to power to Moscow, Beijing, or for that matter Washington, matters tremendously.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING HIST 001: EUROPE IN THE WIDER WORLD & HIST003: ASIA IN THE WIDER WORLD. Please note that these course constitute the first half of a two course sequence focusing on the history of Europe and Asia, respectively. As such, the courses deal primarily with pre-modern history. While the courses are fascinating in their own right (and you may want to take them for that reason), the courses are not substitutes for HIST002 or HIST004 and will not count towards satisfying the history prerequisite for the major.
Approved Course Lists for Fall 2008 are now available.
