June 17, 2010: The 2010 Stockholm Prize in Criminology was awarded to David Weisburd of Hebrew University, Israel and George Mason University, USA during the Stockholm Criminology Symposium. For details see www.criminologyprize.com.
November, 2009 - John MacDonald wins Young Experimental Scholar Award given by the Academy of Experimental Criminology at the annual ASC Meeting.
July, 2009: Professor Lawrence W. Sherman has won the Beccaria Gold Medal of the German Society of Criminology, which will be presented on 17th September in Geisen. The medal is named after an 18th Century founder of criminology, Cesare Beccaria.
June 23, 2009: The 2009 Stockholm Prize in Criminology was awarded to Raul Zaffaroni of the Supreme Court of Argentina, and John Hagan of Northwestern University in Illinois in Stockholm City Hall during the Stockholm Criminology Symposium. For details see

May 6, 2009: Laurie O. Robinson nominated by President Obama for Assistant Attorney General, Office of Justice Programs, Department of Justice. Robinson was named Acting Assistant Attorney General/Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General on January 28, 2009. She previously served as Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs from 1993 to 2000.
