The Penn Violence Reduction Partnership is a collaborative effort of First Judicial District, encompassing the Philadelphia Adult Probation and Parole,
Juvenile Probation, Pre-trial Services, and the Jerry Lee Center of Criminology at the University of Pennsylvania.
The mission of the PVRP is to reduce homicide and other violence by and against the persons people under court supervision in Philadelphia under, by using a data-driven, evidence-based approach to target those most in need of intensive intevention.

The statistical model is currently being used by the Philadelphia Adult Probation and Parole Departmnet to identify offenders at the highest and lowest risks for committing homicide or other serious violence. The PVRP supported the creation of the Strategic Anti-Violence Unit (SAV-U), which supervises those at the highest risk of being charged with murder or attepted murder within two years of their probation start date, and two Low Intensity Supervision caseloads that are currently undergoing experimental evaluation.
