Please join the Kim Program in congratulating Eugene Y. Park for receiving this year’s F. Hilary Conroy Award.
Park was selected to receive the award for organizing his panel “Disability in Early Modern East Asia: Case Studies from China, Japan, and Korea, ca 1500-1870” for Association for Asian Studies (AAS). The Conroy Award was recently initiated to honor Prof. F. Hilary Conroy, outstanding scholar of Japan, Northeast Asia and Asian American history at the University of Pennsylvania from 1951 to 1990. The award recognizes academic excellence of the panel with subject areas that are grounded in Northeast Asia but that are genuinely transnational and extend beyond one nation.
Along with Hyun Jae Yoo, the Kim Program's visiting scholar, and other panelists, Park will be presenting this panel at the AAS conference this coming spring.
