A number of on-campus student organizations exist to meet the needs of the Penn community.
La Casa Latina is a Center devoted to developing greater awareness of Latino Issues, culture and identity on Penn's campus. La Casa Latina provides a supportive environment where students are welcome to discuss and understand issues of importance to them. The Center supports students through resources and services that foster the integration of their academic, social, cultural, and community service activities to enrich their Penn experience. La Casa Latina strives to be a Center where all Latinos and non-Latinos can participate and learn from each other in order to enrich the intercultural experience of the Penn Community. The United Minorities Council (UMC) is a governmental organization comprised of some of Penn's African American, Asian American, Latino/Hispanic, and Native American student groups. The UMC acts as a voice to enhance the experience of racial minority students and sponsors programs that promote multicultural awareness, including the annual Celebration of Culture.
The Asociación Cultural de Estudiantes Latino Americanos (ACELA) is an organization of students of diverse backgrounds working to promote the admission and retention of Latino students and to educate the Penn commnity about Latino issues. El Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA) offers Penn's Latino students personal, academic, and extra-curricular support. MEChA also works for the recruitment and retention of Mexican-American students. For the MEChA newsgroup at Penn, click here.

The Caribbean & Latino Students Association (CLSA) at the Graduate School of Education aims to promote knowledge of and interest in Caribbean and Latin American cultures while recognizing and integrating the needs of Caribbean and Latino/Latina students at GSE. CLSA activities include social and cultural outings, potluck dinners, panel discussions, lectures, and

The Latin American Living-Learning Program is a residential community which seeks to explore and celebrate Latin American cultures through personal interaction and intellectual dialogue. The Penn Brazilian Club
Asociación de Estudiantes Puertorriqueños en Penn (ADEPEP) promotes Puerto Rican culture by seeking a greater institutional responsiveness from the Puerto Rican community at Penn and in Philadelphia, and fosters a sense of community among Puerto Rican students.
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is a national organization that creates a network of engineers, scientists, and architects, provides professional role models, and supports educational programs to increase the number of Hispanics entering these fields. The Boricua-Latino Health Organization (BHO) was founded in 1972 by Dr Helen Rodriguez and Dr Emilio Carrillo along with residents and medical students based in Boston and New York. Their efforts arose out of the political climate established by the Civil Rights Movement, and their concerns center around the recruitment and admissions of Latinos to health-professions programs, among other things.
