Admissions

Applicants to the Master of Environmental Studies program are evaluated according to the following criteria.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and strong academic record.
• Current resume.
• The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required of all applicants except applicants with five or more years of professional experience or Penn undergraduate submatriculants.
• TOEFL scores for those students whose undergraduate degree was not conducted in English.
• Two letters of recommendation from faculty or supervisors familiar with the applicants abilities and scholarly work, including at least one academic reference, if possible.
• Written statement of career objectives and reasons for choosing the Master of Environmental Studies Program at the College of Liberal and Professional Studies. See specific essay questions.
