Elaine B. Wright

Lecturer, Master of Environmental Studies Program
Elaine Brennan Wright retired from the US Environmental Protection Agency where she held various supervisory and senior management positions for over 25 years.  While at EPA, Elaine taught environmental management courses internationally and throughout the US. Elaine served as a management consultant conducting organization analyses for Poland's Environmental Ministry and the Regional Environmental Center of Central and Eastern Europe in Hungary.  She also developed and facilitated programs in Italy, Bosnia, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, Hong Kong and the Philippines.  Recently, Elaine ran a program entitled "Sustainable Development for local governments" at Venice International University in Italy for officials from Central and Eastern Europe. She also briefed a visiting delegation from Shanghai Songjiang District in China on environmental leadership.

Since 2002, Elaine has been on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science teaching academically based community service courses in Environmental Health.  She is also a faculty advisor to students in the Masters in Environmental Studies degree program.  Elaine has also facilitated programs for the Wharton School of Business and the School of Medicine at Penn. From 1996 to 2007, Elaine taught leadership, communications, ethics and management courses for Eastern University's MBA programs.  Her education includes: Senior Executive Fellowship, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; Masters in Business Administration, Widener University, Chester, PA; Masters in Counseling and Personnel, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA; BA, Political Science, Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, Fredericksburg, VA. Elaine is currently on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge, MD and also chairs Blackwater's Environmental Education program.
