Earth and Environmental Science Departmental Scholarship for the Master of Science in Applied Geosciences (MSAG Scholarship)

  • Deadline for submitting a completed application for the Scholarship:  May 1, 2012
  • The Award will be announced by: June 1, 2012

The Award is merit-based, need-blind, and open to all accepted applicants meeting the eligibility requirements (below).

Completed applications for the scholarship will include:

Eligibility requirements:

  • Acceptance into the MSAG program.
  • Only students applying for full-time admission to the MSAG program for Fall 2012 are eligible.
  • Overall undergraduate GPA greater than 3.6 out of 4.0 
  • Awardees must maintain full-time graduate enrollment (3 courses per term during Fall and Spring of the first year of study) in the MSAG program, with a GPA of 3.5, no grade lower than a B, and no incompletes or withdrawals.
  • Awardees will not be eligible for teaching assistantships or additional support from the department during the award period.  (Awardees may not re-apply for the scholarship; however, they will be eligible for either teaching assistantships or other types of support during the second year of the program.)

The Scholarship will fund Tuition and General Fees (at the MSAG program rates) associated with 6 courses required for the MSAG degree in the first two terms of the program (Fall and Spring). The scholarship funds are not applicable to summer courses. Awardees are responsible for all other fees and expenses (books, housing, transportation, health insurance, etc.).
