Tuition and Fee Costs: Gateway III

The enrollment scenarios and related tuition and fee estimates below provide typical examples of what “Gateway III” IGSP students can expect depending on the scheduling choices they make while working with their Academic Advisors.  IGSP Academic Advisors are experts in supporting students to achieve academic goals while also providing support and guidance on tuition and fees.

Note that "Gateway III" IGSP students must take Two Sessions (4 Months) of English Language Programs (ELP) study in addition to the Semester(s) of study in credit bearing classes. (Some students may enroll in ELP prior to entering for-credit university courses; other students may combine ELP study and university credit coursework in the same term.) For more information on ELP, visit Admissions and Eligibility, Curriculum, and English Language Programs.

For more details on which of the three Gateway Programs you are eligible for, visit the Admissions and Eligibility page.

Scheduling Options

  • Courses taken in the LPS division are considered "internal" and are associated with the lowest cost tuition and fees for IGSP students. Courses taken outside the LPS division are considered "external" and are associated with higher tuition and fees for IGSP students. Students have the option to take all courses "Internal" to LPS (Option 1), all courses "External" to LPS (Option 2), or a combination (Option 3).
  • For more information on the “Schedule Options" and other Curriculum details, please see the Curriculum page.

Fee Costs

The total cost of fees will vary each semester based on scheduling details. The below estimates are representative of typical costs associated with full time studies in credit bearing University courses.

Fee Costs for Each Semester of Study
Fee Type and Purpose Approximate Cost Range*
The General Student Fee contributes to support of facilities such as the library systems, museums, special laboratories, computer labs and services, and personal fitness facilities.  $1,100 - $1,500 per semester
Lab Fees for courses in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics  $100 - $300 per course
Supply or Equipment Fees for courses in Art or Chemistry  $75 - $350 per course
Travel fees for courses in Environmental Studies, which might include air or rail tickets, hotel stay, food, and curriculum and active learning related activities.  Varies significantly depending upon location and duration of travel.

Enrollment Scenarios

As an IGSP student, you will enroll in a full-time program of study each semester of your studies. You can participate in IGSP during the Fall, Spring, and/or Summer terms. Full-time students take a minimum of four university credit courses in Fall and Spring. Summer term full time options include taking four courses during the 12-week Summer term or two courses during each 6-week Summer term.

There are many variables involved in determining the ideal mix of academic programming and associated tuition and fees for each individual student, so there is no "standard curriculum" or "standard cost" for studying in the IGSP Program. Students work closely with Academic Advisors each semester to design and refine programs of study, and select specific courses to meet academic goals.
