RecycleMania 2009 is Here!

In RecycleMania, over 500 colleges and university across the nation compete to see who can recycle the most and create the least waste!

Join the Penn Community in focusing on recycling as much as possible and reducing the waste you generate!

Penn has set a goal of 30% recycling during RecycleMania, an increase over last year's 20% level.Your efforts will help bring attention to the importance of recycling!

The winners will be announced at an event on March 23^rd, 4-6pm in Meyerson Hall's Lower Gallery and prizes will be awarded.

RecycleMania Art Contest

The RecycleMania Art Contest invites Penn students, faculty and staff to to make a creation using only recycled materials - used cans, plastic bottles or containers, glass bottles, and paper. Connecting materials used in artwork must also be recyclable or biodegradable and any added dyes or inks must be made of biodegradable materials. The maximum size is 3 ft by 3ft by 3 ft. Green prizes will be awarded, and the artwork will be featured in public venues on campus.

You must sign up to enter by March 16, 2009 by emailing recylemania@pobox.upenn.edu. Bring your art piece to the Art Contest Revealing Event on March 23, 2009 @ 3pm, Meyerson Hall Lower Gallery.  The event will begin at 4pm, and the awards will be announced at 5pm.  The grand prize is a Creative Vado pocket video cam.
