Rod Napier, PhD

Affiliated Faculty, Organizational Dynamics; President, The Napier Group

Rod Napier has been an innovator in the field of leadership and management for four decades, having developed the first 360-degree performance review and pioneered the concept of performance hiring. His early work as a professor at Temple University placed him in the formative years of the group dynamics movement, where he was both a learner and a contributor to this rapidly expanding area of human behavior. As a teacher and consultant, Rod's primary goal is to translate theory into practice in relation to leader/facilitator effectiveness. Rod has authored or co-authored a dozen books including the acclaimed group dynamics text, Groups: Theory and Experience, now in its seventh edition. Rod received an MA from the University of Chicago, and his PhD in Behavioral Studies from the University of Wisconsin.
