Priya Rajagopalan, PhD

Professor of Practice, Fox Leadership International

Priya Rajagopalan holds the position of Professor of Practice at the Fox Leadership International Program (School of Arts and Sciences) at the University of Pennsylvania. With her extensive experience and unwavering dedication to education, she has made significant contributions to the fields of global public health and economics. Her research portfolio spans a wide range of critical public health topics, including elder care, reproductive rights (with a focus on India), and the evolving societal attitudes towards intimate partner violence (IPV) in India. Particularly noteworthy is her ongoing research that delves into the pressing issue of mistreatment and neglect faced by older women in India. Before joining the University of Pennsylvania, Priya Rajagopalan served on the faculty at Purdue University's Krannert School of Management. During her impressive decade-long stint at the school, she specialized in teaching economics, economic policy, and quantitative methods. Her exceptional teaching abilities earned her a multitude of accolades, including the prestigious Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award for Krannert School of Management in both 2007 and 2008, as well as at the university level. In addition to these achievements, she was honored with the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in Krannert School of Management and consistently recognized on the honor roll of teaching by the Krannert Dean's Office for the years 2005 and 2006. Priya Rajagopalan received her PhD from Wayne State University in 1996 and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021.
