Kevin Lee

PhD student in Classical archaeology, The University of Texas at Austin ‘21—expected

Bachelor of Arts, Classical and Near Eastern Civilizations, Art History, summa cum laude
Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska, '12

Kevin’s senior thesis examined multiple Etruscan urban sites and contrasted their layouts with modern theories of urban planning to build a comprehensive theory of Etruscan urbanism. His primary interests lie in urban farm and town planning in the classical Mediterranean and ancient Near Eastern worlds, with a special focus on the Etruscans. In summer 2012, he participated in the excavations at Poggio Civitate, the site of a rural Etruscan elite residence near modern-day Siena. Other areas of interest include the comparative study of empires and imperial structures in the ancient world and Hellenistic history.
