Financial Aid

Financing your education

It is our goal at Penn to make education accessible to talented students from the widest possible range of backgrounds. Pre-Health Programs students are eligible to apply for financial aid, and all domestic applicants interested in their loan eligibility should complete the FAFSA form after applying to the program. (Your status is “non-degree candidate.”) Penn’s Student Financial Services (SFS) office is available to help prospective and current students navigate the process. For more information on financing your graduate studies, visit their website for Graduate and Professional Students or contact SFS.

Students in the Pre-Health Core Studies and Specialized Studies Programs are eligible for Federal Stafford Loans. Students must be registered at least half-time (two course units) for each semester of attendance. In summer, one course unit is considered half-time. The loan amounts for dependent and independent students are available on the Student Financial Services website (click on “Penn Plan,” then “Post-Baccalaureate”).

The parents of dependent students may apply for a PLUS loan. Optional loans, such as the Penn Citi-Assist Program, may also be available. (Eligibility is for one year only.)

Spring application deadline: November 1st
