Course Registration and Permit Queries
2009 Fall Undergraduate Courses
This table provides you with information on the LPS policies for course registration and quotas for our courses. Please be advised that course enrollments are in flux during the drop/add period. We will update this web page daily if any changes in course status occur. Students who have been closed out of classes by quotas or who are attempting to register for classes that are full are advised to register for backup courses, to continue to try to register for their preferred courses, and to check this page regularly for any course updates.
(This table is driven by the registration message related to each course. You should type CTRL+F simultaneously to search for the course using the format of the four letter department code and the section number, with no space in between. ie: ARTH430)
Students interested in registering in an open section should contact Joe Hallman, via lps@sas.upenn.edu. Multiple sections are set up at the same time, so student should take care to see if there is an opening in each section. If sections are closed, students will not be able to register.

| GEOL103 | 601 | Natural Disturbances and Human Disasters | Some seats have been released for non-LPS students. Interested non-LPS students should attempt to register for the course through Penn-in-Touch. IF seats are currently available in the course, they will be able to claim one at that time. Students who are unable to register at this time may also want to consider periodically attempting to register for the course through Penn-in-Touch, as it is possible that a seat could become available. Interested students may contact the department (jbuccill@sas.upenn.edu) to be placed on a waiting list. A place on the waiting list does not guarantee enrollment in the course. Preference for any leftover seats in the second week of classes will be given to majors and students on the waiting list. If you get on the waiting list and hope to take the course, you must attend all classes, regardless of official enrollment. Though you may receive a message saying you need a permit- this is only a function of the system's identifying you as a non-LPS student. The course may a also appear to be open- this is because it is open for LPS students. You should continue to attempt registration, as a seat from the non-LPS quota may be opened, if someone should drop. | |
| GEOL130 | 601 | Oceanography | DMOCHOWSKI, JANE E | Some seats have been released for non-LPS students. Interested non-LPS students should attempt to register for the course through Penn-in-Touch. IF seats are currently available in the course, they will be able to claim one at that time. Interested students may contact the department (jbuccill@sas.upenn.edu) to be placed on a waiting list. A place on the waiting list does not guarantee enrollment in the course. Preference for any leftover seats in the second week of classes will be given to majors and students on the waiting list.
