Pre-Nursing Program
Eligibility
The Pre-Nursing Program provides post-baccalaureate students with the opportunity to take prerequisite courses prior to applying to one of two accelerated programs in Penn's School of Nursing: the BSN program for second degree students or the BSN/MSN Program. To find out whether you should apply directly to the School of Nursing or to the LPS Pre-Nursing Program, please contact the Director of Enrollment Management at the School of Nursing, 215.898.4271. If urged to apply to LPS, please attach a note to your application with the date of your meeting and your contact in the School of Nursing.
Curriculum
The students admitted to the LPS Pre-Nursing Program work closely with advisors in the School of Nursing for guidance about course selection and admission requirements. Some students admitted to the Pre-Nursing Program enroll in day courses in the School of Nursing and pay School of Nursing tuition rates as part of their preparation. For a complete list of the prerequisites for each program, consult the School of Nursing web site.

- Introductory Chemistry with labs
- Principles of General and Organic Chemistry
- Introduction to Microbiology
- Human Biochemistry
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I
- Introduction to Statistics
- Principles of Human Nutrition
- Human Development
- Health Care Ethics
Application to the School of Nursing
