Pre-Health Specialized Studies
The Pre-Health Specialized Studies option will meet your needs if you possess a scientific background but seek to bolster your academic credentials and update your knowledge of more advanced topics in the biomedical sciences.
As a Specialized Studies student you will take a minimum of eight science courses. Your specific schedule will depend on your academic background and timeline to achieve optimal preparation for health professional school. This program can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis, with most students taking two to four courses per term, usually in biology or neuroscience.
You are expected to have worked, volunteered or shadowed in a clinical setting or in another service-related capacity before you apply, and to continue to work, volunteer, or shadow during your studies in the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health Program.
This selective program offers an outstanding array of upper-level science courses. Recent offerings have included:
- Advanced Cell Biology
- Molecular Biology and Genetics
- Clinical Psychopharmacology
- Cancer Cell Biology
- Histology
- Immunobiology
- Vertebrate Physiology
- Biochemistry
