New Student Resources
The following resources are intended to introduce Undergraduate and Post-Baccalaureate new students to the basic and essential resources Penn students utilize. Newly admitted students are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with an advisor after attending a Getting Started Workshop. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at 215-746-7040 or lps@sas.upenn.edu.
Penn Systems Set-Up
These systems enable students to access their academic information as well as a host of resources available to Penn students. It is helpful- but not required- to be established in these systems before attending a Getting Started Workshop. Reviewing this information will lay a foundation for what is covered in the Getting Started Workshop.
Student Health Information
The university requires all incoming students to be immunized for certain diseases and to submit a personal health history. Students will be required to provide this information on a secure web site. Please visit the Student Health Services website to complete the necessary forms: http://www.vpul.upenn.edu/shs.
Full-time and dissertation status students must enroll in the Penn Student Insurance Plan (PSIP) or provide proof of acceptable alternative coverage. If proof is not provided, students will be automatically enrolled in the PSIP. Students may file their selection on-line through the Penn Portal beginning on July 1 for the following academic year.

Getting Started Workshops
If you are a new Undergraduate or Post-Baccalaureate student in LPS, or coming back to Penn after some time away, please join us for a Getting Started workshop. This workshop is designed to familiarize you with Penn, the electronic systems, policies and procedures, and requirements relevant to LPS students. Bring materials to jot down some information and any questions you may have.
Sessions are held every Tuesday 4-5pm in the LPS office at 3440 Market Street, Suite 100. We ask that if you are going to be late to a session that you consider attending the following week or schedule an appointment with an advisor. To RSVP or for questions, please call 215-746-7040 or email lps@sas.upenn.edu.
We look forward to seeing you!
Meeting with Your Advisor

- Transfer credits
- Declaring your major
