Priority Application Dates for Financial Aid: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts
The College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) has coordinated with Penn’s office of Student Financial Services (SFS) to establish priority deadlines for applicants to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts programs who need financial aid in order to pay for their educations. If you are not seeking financial aid, you may submit your application for admission to LPS by the regular deadlines: July 15 for Fall, November 15 for Spring, or April 15 for Summer Sessions.
The priority decision timelines allow you sufficient time between applying to and being accepted into an LPS program and completing your paperwork for your financial aid application. When you submit your completed application for admission to LPS by the admissions priority deadline, the Admissions Committee will notify you of their decision within two weeks or less. If you are accepted for study at LPS, and if you submit your completed financial aid application to SFS (including all necessary forms and supporting documents) by the financial aid priority deadline, you are guaranteed a decision regarding your financial aid package before classes start in the Fall or Spring semester in which you wish to begin your coursework. Please note that you must fulfill the academic requirements in order to be accepted into a program at LPS.

- Deadline for applying for financial aid: April 15
- Financial aid decision: Mid June
You may still apply for admission to the Fall semester as late as August 1, but you are not guaranteed to receive information on a financial aid package before classes start in September.

- Deadline for applying for financial aid: November 1
- Financial aid decision: Early December
You may still apply for admission to the Spring semester as late as December 1, but you are not guaranteed to receive information on a financial aid package before classes start in January.
The Summer deadline for admission is April 15th and the financial aid application deadline is May 1st. Admissions and financial aid packaging are both processed on a rolling basis, and you will most likely have started classes before you receive a package.
Student Financial Services
The office of Student Financial Services is the best resource for all information regarding financial aid. In order to begin the process of being considered for financial aid, you must complete multiple forms and provide all required support documentation. You can meet with an SFS financial aid advisor during regular office hours to discuss your application for aid. Once you have matriculated as a student at LPS you should meet with your financial aid advisor at least once a semester for accurate aid packaging.
Penn and UPHS Employees
Employees of the University of Pennsylvania are eligible for tuition assistance through the Tuition Benefits program. The Human Resources website provides a full explanation of the tuition benefits available to you.
If you are an employee of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, you will need to check directly with your human resources department as specific requirements and benefits for UPHS employees do exist.
