Domestic Guest Student Program

This is a program for undergraduate guest students from other U.S. colleges and universities.

The Domestic Guest Student Program offers an opportunity for full-time undergraduate students at other institutions to enroll full-time at the University of Pennsylvania, for either one or two semesters, in order to enrich their academic experiences or to sample Penn's special combination of campus and urban life.

Eligibility for Domestic Guest Students

To be eligible for the domestic guest student non degree program, you must be a full-time, regularly enrolled student, and you must have completed your freshman year studies and have at least a 3.3 grade point average in prior college-level work.

Application to the Domestic Guest Student Program

You must have a compelling academic reason for applying as a domestic guest student; e.g., the particular course or program of study that you wish to pursue as an undergraduate guest student is not available at your home school.

You must have written permission from your Dean or the Academic Director of your Undergraduate Degree Program to participate in the Domestic Guest Student Program and to transfer the credits you earn at Penn as a domestic guest student to your home institution. The letter should identify the semester or semesters for which you are applying to the Domestic Guest Student Program and should be sent directly to LPS.

Official transcripts of all academic work taken at the college level should also be submitted when you apply as a domestic guest student. No application to the Domestic Guest Student Program will be reviewed until the fee and all supporting material have been received. Click here for application deadlines.

Please call the LPS office with any questions at 215.898.7326.
