Course Description:

This course will involve a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving and will draw on themes from several Organizational Dynamics courses. Students will learn about teamwork, leading others, and working effectively together to achieve a lofty goal. They will have a large amount of autonomy-so they will learn how to manage themselves and work independently, while also managing group dynamics in a high performance project team atmosphere. Most important, they will learn how to promote global change in the form of recommendations in their final deliverables. Students will be expected to research one of the world's most pressing problems and develop meaningful recommendations to solve that problem; hence they will learn and develop creative thinking and problem solving skills. Students will also learn communication skills--both written and verbal--in presenting their work and in interacting with teammates and others throughout the course. Students will advance Penn's contributions to global problems and sustainability.
