Legal Responses to the Middle East Refugee Crisis
Presenter: Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project
Location: Penn Law School, Silverman 240A

Penn Law’s Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) advocates for and provides legal assistance to refugees across the world seeking safety in the United States. Join us for a discussion of IRAP’s work from this year, such as representing Afghan and Iraqi interpreters who assisted the U.S. military, advocacy to spur systemic change in U.S. refugee laws, and working with local law firms to help refugees navigate the resettlement process. Volunteers who traveled to Iraqi Kurdistan on IRAP’s service trip will share their experiences and lessons learned from refugee interviews and a number of NGO briefings. Come learn how you can get involved and make a difference!
