Laura Zier-Ehrlich

Associate Director

Ms. Zier-Ehrlich graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Middle East studies and Political Science. Prior to becoming the Associate Director she worked as the outreach assistant and undergraduate researcher  at the Middle East Center for two years. During this time she worked on a variety of projects ranging from organizing academic lectures and K-12 teacher training programs to expanding the media library. Her research focuses on the aftermath of the 1979 Iranian Revolution, as well as how transparency in the US government has impacted US foreign policy decision outcomes in the Middle East. She received the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship during the 2015-2016 academic year to continue studying Arabic.

Before coming to the Center, Ms. Zier-Ehrlich owned and operated an investment firm and was the co-founder of a gourmet cupcake catering business.
