I have always been particularly interested in opera studies, with a major emphasis on dramaturgy, production, and social relevance of seventeenth/early eighteenth-century operas and romantic Italian works by Rossini and Verdi.  The passion for the material aspects of opera production has led me to collaborate and work on critical editions of Cavalli and Rossini's works, together with a short experience as dramaturg.  Today I am focusing my research on the modern reception and staging of Handel's Italian operas, along with a secondary interest in the investigation of the social impact of opera projects in developing countries.
