on the road in Chicago, Ethel encountered her mentor, Mahalia
Jackson. Through our conversation with Ethel, it became clear that
Mahalia Jackson had a profound influence on Ethel's life to the point
that Mahalia actually encouraged Ethel to continue singing and pursuing
