From student field notes: Although originally from Milawaukee, Web Christman moved to Philadelphia to pursue a graduate degree in economic history. Having grown up in a musical household and having significant musical training himself, it was not long before he was immersed in Jazz. Christman was also involved in Penn's very own St. Mary's church and was influential in creating its very own Jazz venue, Geno's Empty Foxhole.
