Language Programs
The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations teaches Sumerian, Akkadian, Hittite, Egyptian, Hebrew, Aramaic, Arabic, Persian, and Turkish, and other languages of the region, in ancient, medieval, and modern varieties, in a range of courses. Moreover, Arabic and Modern Hebrew are offered at all levels in a broad sequence of courses, through the Arabic Language Program and the Modern Hebrew Language Program, respectively.
