Jain joined Penn’s Department of Physics and Astronomy in 2001. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including a Cottrell Scholars award and a Keck Science and Engineering Grant.

Jain co-directs the School of Arts and Sciences’ Center for Particle Cosmology. He is co-coordinator of the gravitational lensing groups of two international projects: the Dark Energy Survey (DES) and the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST).
