Spring 2016 Faculty Workshops

Interactive Canvas Pedagogies

In this workshop participants will use backward design principles to guide refinement of learning objectives that inform course planning, including the introduction of new technologies into their online and hybrid classes. This could include tools and techniques that can be integrated as soon as this summer as well as longer term course redesign options.

This workshop will additionally focus on engaging students through asynchronous interaction in the Canvas course site via diverse tools and technologies, including webcam video, audio, VoiceThread, use of threaded discussions, and pre-recorded instructor videos and lectures.

Dr. Christina Frei, of Penn Language Center and Germanic Languages and Literatures, will facilitate with members of the Online Learning Team. This workshop is appropriate for all instructors in all subject areas.

Time: Thursday, May 19th, 12:30 - 2:00pm @ 3624 Market Street Suite 5W
